Why focus on euphoria? There is no goal, like euphoria, to be achieved, I think. It's just realizing we have everything already--really realizing that. Feelings come and go, like grace. Reality is reality. There is nothing we can do about that, except see it. When we strive for something, we lose our way.

I dont like the deal of having to find a "purse" in the stores. The horrible idea of someone else's design that would fit my personality AND finding a "purse"/bag/tote that would function the best of all the things I haul around (no I don't pack for a weekend, and I'm "" on the "purse" because I've been a little-backpack person since high school). Sadly I still need something since I've been using a reusable grocery bag (for the earth conscious) for the function of my "purse" and lunch bag. I've decided to make my own ^_^ ... and this seems to be a WONDERFUL base for a design that has been floating in my head... now all I need to do is make a few modifications to turn it into a backpack. Thank you again for this tutorial, I really like the design. ^_^

Also I remember sitting on one of the white benches on the boardwalk at Rehoboth Beach, and we had just finished eating caramel apples/funnel cakes/french fries/fudge/taffy/Nicobolis/the universe, and what a lovely day that was--words cannot describe all that sunshine. But part of it was the parking ticket we got, and how happy I was to have that parking ticket--I would have payed that parking ticket a thousand times over, I was so grateful to be there that day. And I was wearing orange shorts, and we sat there on the bench together and looked at the sunny ocean.

I remember a fine day we went to Montgomery donuts on Rockville Pike/Wisconsin Avenue/355 and we got donuts and ate them next to a stinky dumpster full of rotting crabs. Though I could list an infinitude of similar significant and wonderful instances, I'll just stick to saying I miss you immensely writer.

Thanks for your nice comment! Plastic file folders are a great idea. I did cut the batting smaller than the fabric, probably a little less than half an inch margin all the way around, just so I could actually sew the fabric together with the cardboard and two layers of batting inside. Since it is kind of a guessing game I didn't quilt close to the edges and then I trimmed the batting if there was too much of it.

I started with the bottom and sewed one side, then around the back. Then I think I sewed up the height of those two pieces just to see that everything was fitting together. After that I just put the pieces on randomly--whatever works for you!! Since there is the extra edge without batting it makes it a little easier to sew together and the edges are not so stuffed they don't fit on the base.

Hope that helps! I would love to see your finished piece!!

I love this tutorial. I am inspired to make one. I have some old plastic file folders that I think I will use instead of the cardboard. Did you cut the batting an inch smaller than the fabric?

Did you put the sides together and then the bottom, then the top? What is easiest?

I'm thinking jewelry box, sewing notions, and so much more.

Looking at these picture, I am in love with the spoon I claim not to like, and do not at all like the bottom one. Just so you know, spoons.
